STL Philosophy Mixer

Date: Sept. 29, 2023
Funding Provided by: The Dept. of Philosophy [Webster University]
Organizer: Sahar Joakim, Ph.D. [[email protected]]

All undergraduate students interested in philosophy are invited to an in-person mixer. The afternoon includes activities intended to inspire philosophical discussions and cultivate connections. We will have a think-pair-share session for lively exchange of ideas, small- group discussions of famous thought experiments, and time for informal discussions over a provided vegan meal. This event is not only going to provide students with a safe environment to meet friends with whom they can philosophize beyond the classroom. Students will also have the opportunity to establish professional connections with local philosophy professors. This event will also serve as a conduit for strengthening relationships among local philosophy professors so we can better support our students.
